“God wanted us to have this power and authority. And the power to choose even if it came with vulnerability. Even if it meant that we, as humans would choose to go against Him”

excerpt from, “Through The Battles Without The Scars

“Too many of us in the world today live with a defeatist mentality. Or simply a survivalist attitude. I am right here. I am just trying to get by. Right here catching hell. Trying to make it. We look at our world. Our existence. And we go. Well this is the best I can do.”

excerpt from, “Learning to Win at Life

“God has given us Himself - His Word. This was not the first thing God gave to humans in the Garden of Eden. It was the only thing.”

excerpt from, “Through The Battles Without The Scars

“Mary did something that was life changing, transformative. Mary said yes to God. She uttered no doubt the most important words of her young life. Be it unto me just as you have promised when the human heart says yes to God.”

excerpt from, “Learning to Win at Life

“God is a caring God. This means, in part, that God knows and anticipates our needs before the needs arise and has already taken steps to meet those needs.”

excerpt from, “Through The Battles Without The Scars

“A life without purpose is a life removed from the safety, protection, power, and presence of God.”

excerpt from, “Through The Battles Without The Scars

“Where human failure—and human failures reign, the impossibility to self-correct—God’s love, His grace and mercy, can and will conquer by covering them all, blotting them out, casting them away, as far away as from the East to the West.”

excerpt from, “Through The Battles Without The Scars

Testimonials

About From the Puddle to the Pond “There’s something heartwarming, inspirational, and thought-provoking for everyone. Above all, the contents of this book addresses all facets of humanity - God, family, love, humor, and important life lessons.”

Ruthnell Bull, Retired Public School Administrator

“What Mr. Smith has done, first in poetic form, in his collection From the Puddle to the Pond, and now in narrative form in the story of The Blue Hole, is to bring to life the sounds, the smells, the tastes, and most importantly, the people of The Bahamas.

While reading both works, I found myself transported and completely immersed in Mr. Smith’s childhood home of the island of Andros. Mr. Smith’s story, The Blue Hole, brings to the page a legend that will capture the imagination of everyone, young and old, both in his native Bahamas and the world beyond. It certainly resonated with this reader, a story-lover as well, from Cincinnati, Ohio, and made me dream of tropical ocean waves crashing onto pristine, sun-drenched beaches.”
